On several days during the exhibition period of Joint memory: Photographic Fragments, FOTODOK presents the performance The Precarious Archive by Stefanos Tsivopoulos(GR/NL).

The Precarious Archive constitutes a collection of 900 images which is the result of ten years of research into various public and private archival institutions, press offices, and newspapers in Greece. The visual material chronologically covers the period between 1963 and 2002, and relates to some of the most significant political events that took place in post-war Greece.
The meticulously gathered documentation is derived from sources unknown to the public, and the archival images are not part of a broader collective memory in Greece, or elsewhere. However, during the performances, visitors are invited to contemplate and activate the displayed photographs through their own visual memory and one-on-one discussions with the performers; as well as to form as a group a new ‘memory collective’ with a shared image library.
The performances will last approximately 60 minutes and are free to join* on the following dates:

The performances are conducted by: Nadine Borst, Eros Chien, Keti Kapanadze, Maria Pisiou, Sophie Mak-Schram and Ieke Trinks.
*The exhibition itself has an entrance fee of €4,- for adults and €3,- for students.
