Our guest for this Lunch Talk is Raúl Armando Jiménez Jiménez. Born and raised in Mexico City, Raúl graduated from the National University (UNAM) with a Law Degree and a specialization in philosophy of law. After that, he accomplished his photographic education at the Academy of Visual Arts, where he specialized in documentary and portraiture photography. Winnaars van dit jaar zijn Angel-Rose Oedit Doubé (Fine Art 2021), Teune Derks en Rens de Vries (Photography 2021). continued his studies in visual media at Gim de Arte, learning about the production of audiovisual content thru technological experimentation in different media. In 2018, he became part of the SINAPSIS Photographic Production Laboratory, tutored by Ana Casas Broda, at Hydra + Fotografía, and since 2020 has been attended the online workshops imparted by Nelson Garrido within the program of his ONG. He has also participated in 20Fotógrafos, an international creation workshop under Cristina de Middel and coordinated by Colectivo +1 and other photographic and cultural exchanges with the School of Visual Arts in New York and the Simón I Patiño Foundation Center, in Santa Cruz. In 2018, he collaboratively won the First National Encounter of Schools award organized by Canon EdNet. In 2021, he was one of the three winners of the international competition “Blurring the Lines,” founded by Paris College of Art and Urbanautica Institute. European Cultural Centre and FOTODOK are partners in this program. Raúl has been selected and exhibited at various festivals and collective exhibitions in Mexico, Italy, Spain, Bolivia, Australia, Perú, and the United States, appearing in some catalogs. He is currently doing a Master’s at the University of Salamanca.
