For young creators, FOTODOK feels accessible and approachable, a place where they can easily walk in to show their portfolio and where, each year, students from a range of departments pursue an internship. Talent development is not just a policy term for us, but really is in the DNA of FOTODOK. Since our first exhibition in 2008, we have made money and guidance available to young creators to realise new work.
With the Stipendium Dialoog, we annually award € 3.000 to a beginning photographer who, alongside this amount, also will receive guidance from FOTODOK to show new work of whatever form to an audience.
In Blurring the Lines, Fotodok, in collaboration with Paris College of Art and Urbanautica (amongst others), selects talent from the final year of over 20 international art schools and brings together the highlights in a publication and an exhibition, amongst others during Paris Photo.
Lighthouse is a programme for motivated recent graduates from photography departments at Dutch academies, aiming to support them in their first steps with masterclasses and inspiration sessions. Over the course of Lighthouse, the photographers develop a project around the theme of the FOTODOK exhibition.
